Autumn and Winter 2014

Our morning series, entitled “Building with God.” will take us on a journey through the Old Testament book of Nehemiah.  There we read about how God called one Jewish exile to travel back to Jerusalem and encourage his fellow countrymen to rebuild their city walls and restore their corporate worship of God.  It is my hope and prayer that as we study this book together, that we will be inspired to continue our own corporate worship and that we will be encouraged to keep praying, to keep serving, to keep giving and to keep inviting others to join us.  Along the way we’ll also pick up a few pointers about how to deal with conflict when it arises, how to overcome outside opposition and to appreciate again the value of prayerfully reading the bible and with God’s help obeying what we discover there.  We may just find that learning from Nehemiah will greatly inspire us to continue to live each day for the glory of God and to enjoy Him along the way.

Our evening series is a seven-part sermon series called “A People of Service and Outreach”. Focussing on the letter of 1 Peter this series will be adapted from Presbyterian Church in Ireland’s “Fit for Purpose” material. We will be examining what 1 Peter has to say to the church about who we are, what we are here for, what we are called to be a part of and what it means to be followers of Jesus here today?
In preparation let me encourage you to make time to read through the books of Nehemiah and 1 Peter for yourself…it should only take about 30 minutes for each book.
I look forward to meeting you at the Morning and Sunday Night Live services and in and around church over the next few weeks.
